The Retention Group/ AKA Recovery Legal Group

 Is this company a scam? They are supposed to negotiate with our mortgage lender to get our past due balance taken care of & lower our monthly mortgage rate. They charge a retainer though, of $1800, to do the negotiations between us and our mortgage company. They say they can get the past due balance of approximately $3500 completely wiped out and they say they can most likely get the monthly mortgage down by $200 - $300 a month. They did say they can’t guarantee exactly how much of a reduction. However, they were very professional & seemed efficient, but I can’t really find anything about them on the Internet except their own website and the BBB website.
